Dear W Williams,

Thank you for your email.

Please be advised that I can find no record of an email sent from this
email address to [1][email address]

When and where did you send your email?

What information were you requesting?

BSI publishes and sells British Standards, which are intended as codes of
practice, and are used voluntarily. They do not have the same status as a
regulation or legal requirement.

Some standards a company may hold are enforced by BSI through testing
procedures or auditor visits, but most standards are self - declared, i.e.
the company works to the standard, and can put the standard number on
their paperwork. If a company are claiming to be working to a standard
and are not, then that is illegal under the Trades Description Act.

In most cases, if you have an issue with a product or service from a
company you have dealt with, I would advise you contact your local Trading
Standards Office through your Council. They would be the first point of
contact for any consumer complaint. Trading standards may recommend you
contact us, or may contact us on your behalf if they feel it appropriate
for BSI to be involved in the matter.

I trust I have answered your query, however please do not hesitate to
contact me for further information.

Regards,

Adam Drakard
