Dear J Singh,
Thank you for your email of 1 October requesting information from the
University of Liverpool. Colleagues have provided the information
requested in the attached spreadsheet.
I am writing to you regarding your BSc Geography (F800) course. Could you
please provide myself with an Excel spreadsheet with the following
data/information from the last 2 admission cycles:
1) A Level grades (predicted)
2) A Level grades (achieved)
3) Whether an offer was made
Although the University does hold the information requested, it will not
supply it to you in the format requested.
We are unable to provide the A level grade data requested by programme and
year as this would relate to an individual (even if anonymised). We
believe this information is exempt as disclosure would not comply with the
principles set out in the Data Protection Act 2018 and is therefore exempt
under Section 40 (Personal Information) of the Freedom of Information
Act. Providing it could enable the individuals involved to be identified,
either now or in the future, and these individuals would have a reasonable
expectation that their information will not be disclosed.
In the interests of transparency, we have provided predicated and actual A
level scores separately of each entrant by programme aggregated for the
years requested. In some cases, numbers are still less than five
individuals. In these instances, we have withheld the information.
Also, how many people applied for the course and how many offers were
made?
+------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| |2019 entry |2020 entry |
|--------------------------------------+----------------+----------------|
|Total applications | 297 | 320 |
|--------------------------------------+----------------+----------------|
|Total offers made after results | 267 | 296 |
+------------------------------------------------------------------------+
If you are unhappy with the way we have handled your request for
information, you have a right under Section 50 of the Freedom of
Information Act to ask the University to review it; however, you must do
so within 40 working days of the date of this response. Your request
should include our reference number and explain the reason for requesting
a review. Email [2][University of Liverpool request email] or write to the Freedom of
Information Reviewer, Legal & Compliance, University of Liverpool,
Foundation Building, 765 Brownlow Hill, Liverpool L69 7ZX. We will
respond to your request for an internal review within 20 working days of
receipt.
Following an internal review, if you remain dissatisfied with the handling
of your request, you have a right to appeal to the Information
Commissioner at The Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House,
Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF. Telephone: 0303 123 1113
