Dear Dylan

Thank you for submitting an FOI request, requesting information from the
University of Warwick. In order to comply with your request, we would be
grateful if you could please clarify the following:

•                     With regards to Question 2 of your request, do you
wish to include both conditional and unconditional offers?

•                     When you refer to the entry years of 2016, 2017,
2018 and 2019, please can you confirm that you want us to look at the
admissions cycles for entry into the academic years 2016/17 , 2017/18,
2018/19 and 2019/20?

•                     Please can you confirm that when you refer to
‘number of places’, you want us to look at the set number of places for
each academic year on each course?

In addition to the above clarification points, having reviewed Questions
5-9 of your request, the University estimates that compliance with these
questions would exceed the appropriate costs limit under S.12 Freedom of
Information Act 2000. Public authorities are not obliged to work past the
appropriate costs limit under section 12(1) of the Freedom of Information
Act 2000. This is currently £450, which equates to 18 hours of staff time
calculated at £25 an hour as set out in the Freedom of Information and
Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations 2004.

The University believes your request under Questions 5-9 would exceed the
costs limit because obtaining this information would require us to carry
out a manual search for each individual applicant which would take us well
over the time limit of 18 hours. It is therefore advised that you submit a
refined request.

The University is obliged to offer guidance as to what would be manageable
under the costs limit so with that in mind, it would be able to provide
answers to Questions 1-4 of your request only. If this information would
be of interest to you then when you provide the clarification requested
above please also submit a refined request stating that you are happy to
proceed on the basis we have suggested.

If you do submit a refined request, the University will treat it as a
substitute request to your original request and the 20 working day
statutory time limit will begin from the date your refined request is
received. In the absence of a refined request, the University will send an
official response to your original request, engaging the costs limit
exemption under section 12(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000
within the 20 working day limit. Please also be advised that the
University will be unable to proceed with your request until you have
provided the requested clarifications and the 20 working day statutory
time limit does not begin until clarification has been received.

Kind Regards
