Brucella canis

The request was refused by UK Health Security Agency.

Dear UKHSA,

This is a revised request based on previous requests for which limited information was provided. I intend to appeal any refusal as the HAIRS report version 2 has still not been published, and the public good of withholding this information is tenuous given the increasing damage to the mental wellbeing that is occurring to the many owners caught up in this situation.

1. How many cases of human brucellosis, derived from Canine Brucellosis,
have been diagnosed in a UK-based citizen (any age) in each of the following
years:
- 2020
- 2021
- 2022
- 2023 (include the date up to 26.08.2023)
1.a. Please indicate how many of these cases involved. i. Children under the age of 5 years, ii. Pregnant women, iii. immunocompromised people.
2. How many of these human cases required pharmaceutical treatment?
2.a. of these, how many fell into categories 1.a.i., 1.a.ii., or. 1.a.iii?

3. How many of these human cases required inpatient/hospitalisation as part
of the treatment?
3.a. of these, how many fell into categories 1.a.i., 1.a.ii., or. 1.a.iii?

4. How many of these cases resulted in the death of the individual?
4.a. of these, how many fell into categories 1.a.i., 1.a.ii., or. 1.a.iii?

5. How many of these cases resulted in the death of an unborn child?

Your sincerely,
