British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) presenters attending 2016 olympics (Rio)

The request was refused by British Broadcasting Corporation.

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

I am writing regarding the recent Olympic games held in Rio, Brazil between August 5th to August 21st 2016.

I wish to ascertain the following:

How many flights for presenters did the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) fund?
Were any flights that the BBC funded graded higher than economy?

Yours faithfully,

Wayne Tully

Dear FOI Enquiries,

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of British Broadcasting Corporation's handling of my FOI request 'British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) presenters attending 2016 olympics (Rio)'.

I believe I have a right to be provided with the information requested. If flights are paid for by the BBC then the BBC has an obligation to advise me of this. I am concerned that people who may be self employed are having their travel funded by the licence fee payer. If a person chooses to work abroad, for example, they would generally have to pay their own travel costs. I do not believe a tv presenter, who chooses to be self employed, for example, should be exempt from paying their own way.

Dear Mr Tully,

Thank you for your internal review request for RFI20161573.

We note you are unhappy with the response you received. As explained in
our original reply, the BBC does not offer an internal review when the
information requested is not covered by the Act.  Therefore, if you
disagree with our decision you can appeal to the Information Commissioner.

I am sorry we cannot be of more assistance to you on this occasion.

Yours sincerely,
