Dear Ashna,
Environmental Information Regulations 2004 On 7 November 2023 we received a request from you, concerning the condition of
motorway or A-road bridges.
It has been identified that you have never received a response to your request from us
Therefore, I am now writing to advise that your request has been considered by
Warwickshire County Council under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004.
Please accept our apologies for this delay in providing you with our response, and for
any inconvenience that this may have caused. However, I hope that the information now
being provided is still of help and interest to you at this time.
We advise that the information now being provided is that which applies as of
November 2024 and the previous three years, as applicable.
You asked us:
1) How many bridges on motorways or A-roads have sections which are in a
"poor" or "very poor condition"? Pleased be advised that we have no motorway bridges that we are responsible for.
Therefore, no information is held on this by Warwickshire County Council.
Regulation 12(4)(a) applies to your request in respect of motorway bridges. Regulation
12(4)(a) provides an exception to the duty to disclose information when information is
not held.
In respect of A-roads,we have 6 bridges in A roads with very poor condition elements,
and 35 bridges on A roads which have poor condition elements.
2) How many pedestrian and highway bridges have reinforced autoclaved aerated
concrete present within them and their fixtures? We are not aware of any of our bridges containing reinforced autoclaved aerated
concrete.
3) In the past three years, how much has been spent on repairing and upgrading
bridge structures to remove reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete from them? Nil.
4) In the past three years, how much has been spent on repairing and upgrading
bridge structures? Costs shown below include staff costs, fees and Inspection costs and cover both capital
and revenue spend on all bridge maintenance activities
