The request was refused by London Luton Airport Ltd.

Dear London Luton Airport Ltd,

I would be grateful if you would answer the following questions under the Freedom of Information Act.

* Have you been asked by the Home Office or HMRC to make provision for extra checks on passengers and / or goods in the event of a "no deal" Brexit? If so, please describe these.
* Have you, the airport itself, made provision for the recruitment of extra staff in the event of a "no deal" Brexit? If so, please describe in summary, the approximate number of staff and in what broad roles.

Thank you

Yours faithfully,

Adrian Beney

states Laura Church is the prime contact for London Luton Airport Ltd. "with specific responsibility for the overall conduct of the company’s affairs".

This is not a response compliant with with the Freedom of Information Act, in particular section 1(1) which states:
"Any person making a request for information to a public authority is entitled—
(a)to be informed in writing by the public authority whether it holds information of the description specified in the request, and
(b)if that is the case, to have that information communicated to him."

I suggest asking for a response which is compliant with the law.

Dear Ms Church
Thank you for your response. I understand that the public body London Luton Airport Limited (LLAL) does not run the airport and that the day to day operation is handled by London Luton Airport Operations Ltd.
However, under section 3 of the FOI Act, information held on a public body's behalf by another organisation is subject to the Act; so information held by London Luton Operations can properly be accessed via a request such as the one I have made, to the public body under whose auspices they operate.
I would therefore be grateful for a response.
Yours sincerely,
Adrian Beney
