Dear Mr McKee,

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request dated 02 October 2018, which has been handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).

Your request and our responses are as follows:

1. Have you established a committee or other body with explicit responsibility for planning for Brexit?
Our response: No.

2. On what dates did it meet between 1st April 2018 and 31st September 2018?
3. What are the job titles of the members of this body?
4. Please supply agendas of all meetings held between 1st April 2018 and 31st September 2018
5. Please supply minutes of meetings of this body held between 1st April 2018 and 31st September 2018
Our response: Please see the response to question 1 above..

6. Please supply extracts of the minutes of the Trust board relating to Brexit held between 1st April 2018 and 31st September 2018
Our response: Please see the attached extract from the minutes of the Joint Working Board (JWB) meeting of 04 July 2018. The minutes refer to a report on business continuity for drugs and other supplies relating to the uncertainties around Brexit, which was to be prepared in time for the next JWB meeting, scheduled for Wednesday 05 September 2018.

The draft minutes of the meeting of 5th September say this in relation to the Brexit “Action” of the earlier meeting:

“This could not be resolved at individual trust level and was being addressed nationally. The position would be kept under review and the group procurement service would actively be pursuing the necessary actions to secure necessary supplies. This would be reported in the Finance and Resources Committee in Common.”

The next meeting of the Finance and Resources Committee in Common is on 12 October.

7. Please supply any current risk assessment related to Brexit
Our response: No formal risk assessments have been conducted with regard to antipated consequences of Brexit. There are therefore no written records of such formal assessments.

8. Please supply any correspondence on Brexit between the Trust and NHSE
Our response: We have searched the records of the Chief Executive and members of the Board of Directors for the period covered by your request. No correspondence between the trust and NHSE on this subject has been found.

I hope that the response that the Trust has provided is satisfactory.  However, if you are dissatisfied with the way in which your Freedom of Information request has been dealt with you can request an internal review. Please email [email address] within 40 working days with clarification of what you would like to be reviewed. We will aim to provide a review response within 20 working days.
