Breakdowns
Dear East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust,
I am writing to request the following information under the freedom of information act.
In the months of October, November and December 2021, how many hours were ambulances unavailable as a direct result of a breakdown on shift. (By this I mean roadside breakdowns of double crewed ambulances that were staffed at the time therefore resulting in crew unavailability).
Yours faithfully,
Terry Flemming
Dear Terry,
Thank you for your information request which we will process under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and provide a response within 20 working days as stipulated by the Act.
If you have any queries about this process, please contact me.
Best wishes
Impact of coronavirus
We will endeavour to respond to your request within the statutory timescales. However, due to the current situation, resource may be redirected to other vital areas of the NHS and this may not always be possible. We thank you for your understanding at this time.
Dear Terry,
We are processing your information request, but before we can provide a response we would like you to clarify the following:
Whilst we hold data about vehicles being unavailable it is an aggregated figure showing numbers of VOR’s (Vehicle Off Road) and time lost. It is not broken down into locations when they became unavailable.
VoR will include non breakdown reasons (ie lights, heater, stretcher U/S etc) as well as traditional “breakdown” - please see the list below for the information we are able to provide.
Can you please confirm whether this data is acceptable to you?
If I do not receive the clarification within three months from the date of this email your request will be considered to have lapsed. (Under section 1(3) of the Freedom of Information Act, a public authority need not comply with a request unless any further information reasonably required to locate the information is supplied).
Thank you in anticipation
