In respect of Pay Grade 5, only one female is employed. Following careful
consideration and in view of the fact that disclosure of an average figure
would be to disclose and individual salary, Finance Wales considers such
personal information to be exempt from release under section 40(2) of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000. Section 40(2) provides that ‘If the
personal data is about someone other than the applicant, there is an
exemption if disclosure would breach any of the Data Protection
Principles’. In this case, the information is such that in our view, its
release would breach the Data Protection Principles. This is an absolute
exemption.

 

I can also advise that no pay reviews specifically considering gender have
been carried out by Finance Wales.

 

Your request has been considered according to the Freedom of Information
Act 2000 and principles set out in the National Assembly for Wales Code of
Practice on Public Access to Information. The Code is published [1]here.

 

If you believe that Finance Wales has not applied the Code correctly or
