Breakdown of HMO licence revenue expenditure

The request was partially successful.

Dear Birmingham City Council,

I would like to obtain a breakdown of how HMO licence revenue is spent.

Please breakdown into at least the following categories :-

Income:
1)total income

Expenditure:
2)'desk based' application processing
3)routine compliance visits
4)a) enforcement activity against licensable properties
b) enforcement activity against other properties
5) fixed overheads
6)other
(if it is more convenient to breakdown in a slightly different way that is fine, as long as I can then determine the above breakdown from the data provided by yourselves)

Please cover the years 2006 - 2016
If this is not possible years 2006 - 2011
(this period is requested because there would have been a very large 'lump' in the income when the scheme came into effect in 2006)

Yours faithfully,
Owen O'Neill

Dear Birmingham City Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Birmingham City Council's handling of my FOI request 'Breakdown of HMO licence revenue expenditure'.

The response received did not contain the requested details of the actual expenditure - only an approximate estimate of the breakdown of expenditure, with no actual figures for expenditure incurred.

And I must apologise for not being 100% clear in one aspect of my request - but in common with all financial figures, it is expected that the figures are broken done a year by year basis, be that financial year or calendar year whichever is more convenient for yourself.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/b...

Yours faithfully,
Owen O'Neill
