Breaches/ Non-Compliane by Retailers of Parts 8 & 9 of the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016
Dear Ministry of Justice,
Please provide details of any enforcement action and penalties levelled against retailers selling products to underage UK consumers in relation to Parts 8 & 9 of the Regulations, either directly or via an age-compliant third party. I'm specifically interested in tracing how these products are finding their way in to the hands of minors as young as 11 years old for their own and other children's consumption.
Has there, for example, been any action taken by the police, schools and local authorities that have resulted in cautions, arrests and prosecutions against retailers and/ or the parents and carers of the underaged children concerned in an attmpt to curb this growing activity and would the information be available on a Councty Council level for comparison purposes?
I'd like also to cross-reference this request with the "IBVTA compulsary membership for online vape shops" request from Jamie Agnew dated 8 July 2019.
Yours faithfully,
Terry Jackson
