Thank you for your email of 12 October asking for the information the ICO
required us to disclose in their decision notice of 29 September 2023.
I’ve considered your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
(FOIA).

The information we provided in response to the ICO decision of 29
September 2023 which you reference is as follows:

We note the assessment of the ICO that the request represents exceptional
circumstances where a deviation from our publication and disclosure policy
is justified.

When we refer to ‘complaints’ we are usually referring to concerns about
individual doctors; as reflected in the annual [1]fitness to practise
statistics.

When information is received which raises concerns about a doctor (or
doctors), whether it is a complaint from a member of the public about
several doctors, a referral from an employer, or information from any
other single source, it is recorded on our case management system under a
single ‘enquiry’ reference number. The concerns about each doctor will be
‘triaged’ individually. Our records indicate that there have been a total
of 16 ‘triages’ relating to Dr Sam Eljamel between 1995 and 2023 recorded
in this way. Of these, one was received between 1995 and 2007.
