Bovine TB

The request was successful.

Dear Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs,

I would be grateful if you could provide me with information (results and supporting information) relating to the testing of other species of wildlife in respect of Bovine TB (BTB) that led to the conclusion that badgers are the main perpetrators of spreading it. If such data is not available, could you please give reason(s) why these species were not tested. The species of wildlife I am most interested in (but not limited to) are:
-deer (red, fallow, sika, roe)
- foxes
- domestic cats
- rats
- other mustelids (weasels, stoats, polecats)

I would also be grateful if you could provide the test results and supplementary information for badgers as a means of comparison to the other species of wildlife mentioned above.

Yours faithfully,

Mark Smith
