Bosham Parish Neighbourhood Plan (BPNP) - setting of speed limits

The request was partially successful.

Steve Blighton-Sande

Dear Bosham Parish Council,

I note that one of the sections of the BPNP (which was overwhelming supported in the referendum) was that of reviewing speed limits in Broadbridge and Bosham to make them more appropriate in residential areas.

Your recent decision in the Parish Council meeting of January 2018 to drop such proposals seems unwarranted.

To this end, please can I ask for copies of all minutes and correspondence to/from the Parish Council which have influenced this decision.

I look forwards to hearing form you within the statutory period that you have to respond to FOI requests.

Yours faithfully,

Steve Blighton-Sande

Parish Clerk, Bosham Parish Council

Dear Mr Blighton-Sande,

Thank you for your request under the Freedom of information Act. All our minutes are published on the website and I do believe that you have been copied into all e-mail correspondence. However, over the next couple of weeks (before the 40 days deadline to respond under the Freedom of information Act) I will make a list of all correspondence and make sure you have copies.

Yours sincerely

Dear Mr Blighton- Sande,

Following your request under the Freedom of Information Act I have attached a word document listing the correspondence to and from all members of the Council in relation to you initial request arising from your e-mail sent on the 25th November 2017.

I can confirm that all members were asked for any correspondence relating to this subject to be surrendered to the parish office. All members have confirmed that they have not emailed or corresponded with any Parish Councillor or other third party regarding the 20 mph speed limit; apart from Cllr Chapman who's e-mails are listed in the attached document.

Parish Council meetings are advertised in the formal statutory manner as prescribed by the Local Government Act 1972 and regulated in our Standing Orders (also attached). Thus the agendas for both the December and January meetings were advertised a clear 3 days prior to the meeting on 6 notice boards around the village and on the website. All Parish meetings are open for the public to attend and listen to the discussions held. Whilst minutes do not hold details of the full debate, the subsequent letter from the Chairman went into further details of some of the areas debated.

I hope this information is sufficient to satisfy your requirements under this order. However, if there is anything else that you require please do not hesitate to contact me.
