(1) Since Arun has owned the Arcade has Arun recieved any offers to purchase it by others?
(2) If so when, which officer dealt with the offer, what was the response, which, if any, elected members were consulted and under which section of delegated authority in the constitution was the decision taken on how to respond to any offer made?

REQUEST:

 

With regard to the Bognor Regis Arcade:

 

(1) Since Arun has owned the Arcade has Arun recieved any offers to
purchase it by others?

 

(2) If so when, which officer dealt with the offer, what was the response,
which, if any, elected members were consulted  and under which section of
delegated authority in the constitution was the decision taken on how to
respond to any offer made?

 

 

RESPONSE:

 

(1)          Yes

 

(2)          Two offers were received from the same party in 2019, firstly
for the Arcade as a whole and a secondly for the upper floors.  Both
offers were declined after consideration by the Council’s Corporate
Management Team because the Council’s intention at that time was to retain
ownership.

 

Part 4, Section 2 of the constitution sets out that the Chief Executive,
Directors and Group Heads have the power to take all lawful action
consistent with overall Council policy to deliver agreed strategy, plans
and policy, and to comply with and undertake all statutory obligations,
duties, functions and powers within his or her area of responsibility and
within approved budget.

 

 

If you are dissatisfied with the way your request for information has been
