Under the Freedom of Information Act we are required to reply within 20
working days.  The Act does not specify a limit to the number of
information requests a public authority may receive or the number of
requests or questions an applicant may submit.  However, there are
exemptions in the Act that can apply and these include where the cost of
complying with the request would extend beyond the reasonable cost limit,
(currently 18 hours or £450), or if the request is otherwise manifestly
unreasonable in its scope or nature.

submitted at the same time, may make it necessary for Essex Police to

engaged if the burden on the authority is increased through multiple

Essex Police is in receipt of your complaint to FOI request 14533

Essex Police will conduct a review as requested.

 

As you will be aware, the Information Commissioner's guidance for reviews
held under Section 50 of the Act is that they should be completed within

Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) places two duties

Having completed enquiries within Essex Police and in respect of Section
1(1)(a), Essex Police does hold information relating to your request,
Essex Police can confirm in respect of Section 1(1)(b) the below data

provision of emergency boarding up and locksmith services – provided under
CONTRACT REF: SS3/17/2

The costs for all works which are not as a result of forced entry by the
Eligible User and for which the Eligible User is not responsible under
clause 3.3. b above will be collected by the Contractor from the
landlord/householder/owner/occupier of premises directly.  It is expected
that prices charged by the successful Contractor to the public shall not
exceed market rates for an emergency boarding up service.  The Contractor
shall ensure that the Eligible User is not invoiced for the service
inappropriately or when such charges should be appropriately levied to the
landlord/householder/owner/occupier.

 

This contract is for a basic Emergency Boarding Up provision. Contractors
must annex to the contract –

 

a.              Basic boarding-up arrangements including specification of
materials to be used with rates set out in the Pricing Schedule of the
Contract.

 

b.              Any additional fixings used to secure the property must be
agreed with the officer on scene and recorded in the audit document, only
fixings specified in the Pricing Schedule of the Contract should be used.

 

c.          Job completion times from scene arrival in order that police
redeployment from scene can be estimated/predicted.
