Dear Health and Safety Executive,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Health and Safety Executive's handling of my FOI request 'Board paper HSE/21/50'.

The response is defective because the specific numbered paper I asked for us not in the document that was linked to. This proves my point about why board papesa aren't published on the website.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/b...

Yours faithfully,

Mr Wyllie

Dear HSE,

I would be grateful for an update on my internal review request, available for the record at https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/b...

Yours sincerely,

Mr Wyllie

Good afternoon Mr Wyllie

Please accept my apologies for the lengthy delay in responding to your further enquiry regarding HSE board papers HSE/21/50. I admit that I misinterpreted your original request and gave you a link to HSE's board meeting which is not what you asked for.

Please refer to attached board paper and related annexes that fall within scope of your request. Regarding the second part of your enquiry relating to the publication of HSE board papers I will forward you an answer to this part in due course as the person handling this part of the request is currently on leave.

If you have any queries regarding this email please contact me directly.

Dear FOI Team,

On 22 September 2022 Michelle Sweeney emailed in respect of my FOI that:

"Regarding the second part of your enquiry relating to the publication of HSE board papers I will forward you an answer to this part in due course as the person handling this part of the request is currently on leave."

I'm afraid no further answer was received - so I'd be grateful if it could be sent? As it happens I've noticed from a quick look on the HSE website that Board papers still aren't published (with the exception of the Chief Executive's update) even, as my FOI request has shown, if they are capable of being published in full so I think this is still a live issue.

For the record, the full email chain showing that nothing was received is published at https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/b....

I really look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Wyllie

Information Request, Health and Safety Executive

Thank you for contacting the Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) Central
Disclosure Unit. Please take this automated email as formal
acknowledgement HSE have received your request for information and are
processing it.  HSE will endeavour to respond to your request within
statutory timescales – 20 working days for requests that fall within scope
of the Freedom of Information Act or Environmental Information Regulations
and one month for requests that fall within scope of the  Data Protection
Act 2018.  If you are seeking an internal review of a previous disclosure
decision, HSE will also endeavour to respond to your request within the
Information Commissioners recommended timescale for response of 20 working
days.  HSE request you do not seek an update on the  status of your
request before the statutory / recommended date for response has
expired. As with many public sector organisations the pandemic has had a
major impact on our ability to undertake day-to-day operations which has
resulted in HSE not always being in a position to respond to requests
within the statutory / recommended deadlines detailed above.  HSE ask for
your patience at this time and assure you a response will be provided
within due course.
