Freedom of Information, Hounslow Borough Council

Dear M.Jones,

Re: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOI) 2000 - FIR007877

I am writing regarding your request for information dated 15.08.2022. You have requested the following:

1) Please provide a map of all Blue Badge (BB) Bays in Town Centre and confirm the number of Blue Badge Bays.

Hounslow do not have a map available that shows disabled bay parking spaces specifically, however the following publicly accessible map may be of use and this has a carpark layer: https://maps.hounslow.gov.uk/map/Aurora....

The number of disabled bays in Hounslow Town Centre is listed in the table below.

Area Number of Disabled Bays
Hounslow Bell Rd Car Park 2
Hounslow Kingsley Rd Car Park 4
Hounslow Prince Regent Rd Car Park 2

2) Please confirm if the Blue Badge Bays are full on day what provision is made for Blue Badge Holders to park at alternative provision in the Town Centre.

Where you can park with a Blue Badge in Hounslow
* free at any public parking meters or pay and display bays
* up to three hours on single or double yellow lines - clearly displaying the clock set at the time of arrival
* disabled bays for as much time as you need
* on-street resident permit/ shared use bays within Hounslow
* all Hounslow car parks in the pay and display or disabled bays.

3) Please confirm if BB Holders are allowed to park in resident parking zones owned and operated by the council? If not please confirm why not as this varies from council and provide copies of the internal minutes/ consultations undertaken/ transport decision agreements which led to policy and practice adoption that BB Holders will not be allowed to park in council owned resident parking zones.

Yes they are providing they clearly display a valid Blue Badge when they park and leave the car

The response to your request has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
