Blood donations from prisons in Devon.

The request was refused by NHS Blood and Transplant.

Dear NHS Blood and Transplant,
Could you please tell me if you ever received blood donations from prisons in Devon, i. e. HMP Dartmoor, HMP Exeter, HMP Channings Wood in the 1960's 1970's? Was any of this blood supplied to Greenbank Hospital in Plymouth? Many thanks.

Yours faithfully,

Dear NHS Blood and Transplant,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of NHS Blood and Transplant's handling of my FOI request, 'Blood donations from prisons in Devon', because I do not consider your response is compliant with the Freedom of Information Act. You should say if if you hold the information and you have not. If you have it but are not going to release it you need to cite the relevant exemptions you are relying on to refuse to release the information.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/b...

Internal review requested 5 November 2019.

Dear NHS Blood and Transplant,
I made a request for an internal review of your answer to my Freedom of Information request of 5 November on 20 November 2019 because because I did not consider your response is compliant with the Freedom of Information Act. You should say if if you hold the information and you have not. If you have it but are not going to release it you need to cite the relevant exemptions you are relying on to refuse to release the information. You have not informed me if you have even conducted a review of your decision so I am writing to ask you to confirm you received my request for an internal review and tell me when you are going to respond with an answer.

You are required by law to respond to a Freedom of Information request and your initial response was NOT compliant with the protocols of the Freedom of Information Act. I will be referring this request to the Information Commissioner.
