Thank you for your request for information which has been dealt with under the terms of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. Your request for information has been considered and the information is enclosed. I shall address each of your questions in turn.

1. Do you have any block contracts for Residential Care homes and/or Respite Care? If yes, please advise how many Residential Care homes you have.

Yes. We have block contracts with 14 residential care homes.

2. How many beds are under Block Contracts?

250.

3. How much are these contracts worth?

£6,848,849 per annum.

4. Do you use an IT system to maximise the effectiveness of these contracts? If the answer is yes, please provide details of who you have the contract with.

Yes. We operate a contract register and a contract risk register for the purpose of recording key contract data and collating and evaluating key contract performance management data. Both systems have been developed in-house by the Council.

5. When are these contracts in place until?

12 contracts expire on 31 March 2014.

2 contracts expire on 1 December 2014.

6. Who is the Head of Commissioning dealing with these contracts?

The Head of Service with responsibility for the Contracts Manager is Michelle Miller (there is no post within the Council entitled “Head of Commissioning”).
