We're waiting for Barry Scott to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Greenwich Borough Council,

Please provide the answers to the questions below regarding Residential Care homes - Block Contracts - Respite Care.

1. Do you have any block contracts for Residential Care homes &/Or Respite Care? If yes, please advise how many Residential Care homes you have.

2. How many beds are under Block Contracts?

3. How much are these contracts worth?

4. Do you use an IT system to maximise the effectiveness of these contracts? If the answer is yes, please provide details of who you have the contract with.

5. When are these contracts in place till?

6. Who is the Head Of Commissioning dealing with these contracts?

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request dated 31/12/2013  shown
below regarding block contracts .

 

Our response to your questions follows:

 

1.    Do you have any block contracts for Residential Care homes &/Or
Respite Care? If yes, please advise how many Residential Care homes you
have.

5 Council managed care homes for people with a learning disability (PWLD)

7 Block contracted care homes for PWLD

1 Respite Care provision for PWLD

 

2.    How many beds are under Block Contracts?

 

36 Council managed beds for PWLD

60 beds in block contract for PWLD

8 beds in respite care for PWLD

 

3.    How much are these contracts worth?

 

The Block contract for PWLD is worth approximately £5.2M p.a. in total of
which RBG contributes approx. £4.1M p.a.

The Respite contract is currently worth approximately £600K p.a.

 

4.    Do you use an IT system to maximise the effectiveness of these
contracts? If the answer is yes, please provide details of who you have
the contract with.

 

Framework i which is the Adult Social Care client record system by host
supplier Core Logic.  We do not use a contract management system.

 

5.    When are these contracts in place till?

 

Current block contract for PWLD expires in June 2016

Current contract for Respite expires March 2014.  A new contract has
recently been tendered and will come into effect for three years from
April 2014

Current contract with Core Logic due to end in Sept 2016

 

6.    Who is the Head Of Commissioning dealing with these contracts?

The Lead Commissioner (Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities,
Autism & Carers) manages care home contracts

The Assistant ICT Contract Manager is responsible for the Frameworki
contract
