Biomass Boiler usage

We're waiting for Simon Sharman to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Headteacher,

I am researching usage of biomass boilers installed by Northumberland County Council for the four schools in which they were installed.

Glendale Middle School Installation Cost £288,390.43 Commissioning date 22/07/15

Please release the following data:

* Your current biomass boiler meter reading, plus historical readings for the last seven years. Northumberland County Council have supplied the reading from 2014.
* Your annual spending on fuel, broken down between biomass, gas and electricity for the last seven years.
* Your annual gas usage for the last seven years. (If you don't have seven year records on site, Northumberland County Council energy dept. will hold these records .)
* If you are not using the biomass boiler, the minutes of the management or governors meeting showing the reasoning behind the decision where this was agreed.

Dear Me Deane-Hall
I am writing to request an internal review of Glendale Middle School, Wooler's handling of my FOI request 'Biomass Boiler usage'.

By law, you should have replied no later than 21st May. This deadline has passed. On Monday, I am escalating the matter to the ICO who may issue an enforcement notice. Failure to comply with that may lead to a contempt of court ruling.

In the meantime, I am also escalating this failure to comply as a complaint through your complaints policy.

I refer to your Freedom of Information request, FOI 9333 in relation to
biomass boiler usage.

Right of Access

Section 1(1) of the Act provides any person making a request for
information to a public authority is entitled.

(a) to be informed in writing by the public authority whether it holds
information of the description specified in the request (which Section
1(6) of the Act designates as the "duty to confirm or deny"), and

(b) if that is the case, to have that information communicated to him.

The right is to obtain access to the information itself and not to the
document or record which contains it.

The Act creates a general right of access to information held by public
authorities subject to various exemptions.
