The request was partially successful.

Dear Natural Resources Body for Wales, I am writing to request copies of all documents including meeting minutes ,letters ,emails and studies that led NRW to conclude that fuel for Biomass No2 at Woodham Road Barry Docks should not be stored adjacent to the incinerator/energy plant

Dear Mr Robertson,
Thanks you for your e-mail it has been allocated number ATI-15262a.
In order for us to get the correct information to you could you please clarify your request as the original application documents always proposed that the wood would be stored in a building within the installation boundary, no consideration was given to storage adjacent to the plant.

Once we have received your clarification we will process your request. If we do not hear back from you within 60 days we will assume you no longer wish to pursue the request.

If you have any further queries or concerns please contact me on the number or e-mail address below. We would be grateful if you would use the Access to Information Request Number in all future correspondence.

Yours Sincerely,
Nerys Griffith

Dear Access to Information Team,

Thank you for the response.

The Permit includes the condition that “All waste storage must be indoors, on a concrete surface with sealed drainage”. That appeared to suggest that NRW took the view that waste wood needed to be kept within the building rather than it being a mere suggestion by the operator.

Please let me have all material held by NRW that deals with health and other risks that might arise from the storage of waste wood, including chipped waste wood, whether stored within or without a building. Please also supply all material held by NRW that sets out the requirements to be considered and/or imposed to ameliorate all risks identified.

For clarity I should add that unless such documentation relates specifically to the storage of wood on the Barry docks, I am requesting documentation that generically deals with the matters raised above.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Paul Robertson
