Bin surveys - Wales

Basia Cummings made this Freedom of Information request to Powys County Council as part of a batch sent to 22 authorities

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Powys County Council,

I would like to know whether the Authority has carried out any form of bin survey over the past five years.

Can the Authority provide the number of bin surveys it has conducted in each calendar year since 2014?
If applicable, can the Authority also provide the number of households subject to bin surveys in the same period?

For clarity, a bin survey is used to identify the types of rubbish being thrown away by households or which bins are being used, or both.

:: I would like to receive data in an Excel file format.
:: I would appreciate the Authority providing any assistance to me regarding my request, if appropriate and as per relevant legislation.

Yours faithfully,

Basia Cummings

Dear Ms Cummings

Thank you for your request for information dated 26/03/2019 concerning Bin
Surveys

This is to inform you that your request has been considered and I can
provide the following response:

The Request: Response

I would like to know whether the Authority has carried out any form of bin
survey over the past five years.

Can the Authority provide the number of bin surveys it has conducted in
each calendar year since 2014?

If applicable, can the Authority also provide the number of households
subject to bin surveys in the same period?

For clarity, a bin survey is used to identify the types of rubbish being
thrown away by households or which bins are being used, or both.

Please find attached the data as requested in an excel file format. With
regards to years 2014, 2016 and 2017 there is no data as no surveys were
completed during those years. For that reason Section 1 is therefore
engaged.

Under Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act a public authority is
required to inform you

1 (a) whether the information requested is held by the public authority,
and

(b) to have that information communicated if that is the case.

In this case the information requested is not held

We believe that this request is now complete and shall be closed
immediately. Should any further information be requested regarding this
topic, a separate request will need to be submitted.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in
Powys County Council.

Yours sincerely,

Information Compliance Team
