I am writing in response to your request dated 20/06/2023. This has been
dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The Council’s response to your specific questions is set out below:

Under Freedom of Information, I would be grateful if you could provide the
following information:

1. Number of bin lorry fires and total cost of damage (broken down by the
cost to the council and council's insurer) in 2021 One. Cost to the
council, £10.2k.

2. Number of bin lorry fires and total cost of damage (broken down by the
cost to the council and council's insurer) in 2022 One. Cost to the
council, £8.7k.

3. Number of bin lorry fires from 1 January 2023 to 31 May 2023 and total
cost of damage (broken down by cost to the council and council's insurer)
None

For bin lorry please take this to mean household waste and recycling
vehicles.
