Dear Ashford Borough Council,
Thank you for your prompt reply.
Kindly confirm if bin collections are funded in part, or in full, from the collection of council tax.
Yours faithfully,
George Tsigarides
Dear George Tsigarides,
Thank you for your reply, as previously stated the council operates from a number of income streams and services operate on a budgetary basis rather than being funded directly from any one stream.
For example for the year 2019/20, excluding the Housing revenue account, the councils budget requirement was ~£17,284,539 and this was funded in part by that received from council tax (~£7,556,280).
As a result it could be said that the majority of service operated by the council including bin collection are part funded by council tax. More information about the breakdown income and expenditure streams can be found at the linked previously provided.
Kind regards
Freedom of Information Team
