Best Across Cambridge As Level
Dear University of Cambridge,
I am writing to inquire whether the "Best Across" Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award takes into account the relative difficulty of different subjects. For instance, achieving high marks in essay-based subjects like Cambridge AS Level History seems considerably more challenging than in subjects like AS Level Mathematics, where higher scores are more common. While I understand that marks are converted into a standardized score out of 100 to account for different syllabus totals, this adjustment does not seem to fully address the inherent differences in difficulty between subjects. It seems that candidates taking more demanding essay-based subjects might be at a disadvantage compared to those taking subjects where top marks are easier to attain. Does the award system account for this disparity in any way?
Yours sincerely,
Ahmed
