Dear Anne,

I am writing in respect of your recent enquiry for information held by the
Council under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act. You asked
the following:

In the Minutes of the SLDC Cabinet on 12th November 2008 under Agenda Item
No: 6 there is a reference to a  Report Title:  Berners Close Regeneration
Site – Grange-over-Sands - Appointment of ‘Preferred Developer’ (Part I)
which is included with the Minutes.

IThe Minutes also refers to a "Part II report of the same title, in which
recommendations are made in respect of the selection of a ‘Preferred
Developer’."   The Part II report is not included either with the said
Minutes or separately in the online document archive, so I would like to
request a copy of that Part II report please, which I understand from the
Minutes of the Cabinet meeting on 12th Nov 2008 was withheld due to
commercial sensitivity.  As the report  is now a decade old and relates to
a contract which was subsequently cancelled, there would seem to be no
valid reason to further withhold the document from public view.

I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the late response
to your request for information. I am sorry that South Lakeland District
Council did not respond to your information request within the statutory
20 working days as directed under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I
am grateful for your patience regarding this matter and I am sorry if this
has caused any inconvenience to you.
