Our response

Please see the attached document.
Please note that the university employs a rounding methodology when disclosing statistical information linked to student or staff numbers. This is to reduce the risk of an individual being identified from this, or any other dataset released by the university or another organisation. This is in line with ICO recommendations for anonymising datasets under section 40(2) of the Act.

The methodology the university has adopted is a variation of the HESA standard rounding and suppression method. In this case as the level of information provided can potentially follow individual’s journeys onto the course the UKCAT rounded to nearest 10 to maintain anonymity.
Full details of the HESA methodology can be found on their website:
https://www.hesa.ac.uk/about/regulation/...
suppression-anonymise-statistics

Please also note that highest 3 A Level grades listed where data on 3 A Levels was provided to us via UCAS. In cases where a successful applicant has completed grades appear too low (e.g. ACC), the applicant may have completed a qualification in the intervening time, such as a degree. Grades with (P) after them are predicted grades.
This completes the university’s response to your information request.
