BDS Admission Statistics
Dear University of Manchester,
I would like to request some information about the BDS Dentistry admissions.
Please provide me an excel sheet with the following information for each of the latest 3 admission cycle for the BDS Dentistry course:
1) UCAT score of each applicant invited for interview
2) The average UCAT score of all home applicants invited to interview
3) The average UCAT score of applicants that received an offer
4) The cut-off & threshold score for UCAT
The latest three admissions cycles being:
2019/2020
2020/2021
2021/2022
If you do not yet have data for 2020/2021 or 2021/2022, please could you instead provide the data for the 2018/2019 cycle.

I would like to request some information about the BDS Dentistry

If you do not yet have data for 2020/2021 or 2021/2022, please could you
instead provide the data for the 2018/2019 cycle.
The University has now considered your request and our response can be

1) UCAT score of each applicant invited for interview
The UCAT scores of each applicant are deemed to be their personal data and
therefore exempt from disclosure by virtue of the listed exemption at
Section 40 (2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) – third party
personal data. This email serves to act as a refusal notice for this part
of your request in accordance with Section 17 (1) of the FOIA.
2) The average UCAT score of all home applicants invited to interview
2019/2020 -2622.801
2020/2021- 2761.4
2021/2022- 2757.033
3) The average UCAT score of applicants that received an offer
2019/2020 2629.588
2020/2021 2704.601
2021/2022 2793.385
4) The cut-off & threshold score for UCAT
The threshold/cut-off for each year. Scores lower than this would be
considered holistically.
2019/2020- 2610
2020/2021- 2640
2021/2022- 2730
I hope the above information is of use to you however if you feel that
The University of Manchester has refused access to information to which
you are entitled, or has not dealt with your request appropriately under
the FOIA, you have a right of appeal.
An appeal in the first instance should be directed to the Information

· details of your initial request
· any other relevant information
You must make this appeal within 40 working days from receipt of your
response. We will not accept appeals received after this date, as per the
Freedom of Information Code of Practice, Section 5.3.
The University will deal with your appeal within a reasonable time, and

You are also welcome to contact the Information Governance Office with
informal questions about the handling of your request.
After The University’s internal appeals procedure has been exhausted, you
have a further right of appeal to the Information Commissioner’s
