Dear NHS Bath and North East Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group,

I have recently send you a request about getting copies of the BCAP formlary minutes.

I forgot to mention in the first email if you could also provide me an idea of the required formulary process in getting drugs approved in the formulary. Could any health care professionals apply for approval?

Yours faithfully,

Dear FOI (NHS CENTRAL SOUTHERN COMMISSIONING SUPPORT UNIT),

In response to you last email. I am not trying to find out about a particular drugs but wanting the minutes of the BCAP formulary meetings from Jan 2013 to July 2014 to give an idea of how decisions are made by the committee members.

Dear Mr Quiam

RE: Clarification of your FOI request. Please quote the reference FOI 4855
BAN 11E in all correspondence with us as this will assist in replying to
you promptly.

We are aware that you requested the BCAP formulary meeting minutes however
you also requested the following:

“I am trying to have a better understanding of how new drugs are attended
or rejected in the BCAP Joint formulary that influenced the prescribing of
drugs within NHS BANES, the RUH, and I believe NHS Wiltshire CCG as well.

Can you also provide me an idea of the required formulary process in
getting drugs approved in the formulary.  Could any health care
professionals apply for approval?”

As you know, there are a vast catalogue of different drugs and medications
on the market, each of which has a large ammount of documentation to
support it. It would assist us greatly if you could confirm what types of
drugs you are interested in.

Kind Regards,

Dear FOI (NHS CENTRAL SOUTHERN COMMISSIONING SUPPORT UNIT),

Following on from your last email. If it will help with the information that I require, could you please send me the BCAP miniutes from Jan 2013 to Jul 2014 which details their decision on new respiratory drugs for both asthma and COPD showing why they allowed certain type of these drugs and blacklist others.

Yours sincerely,

Jose Quiam
