BBC staff on furlough
Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
The COVID-19 situation has caused many businesses to furlough their staff and the government have said they will pay 80% of salary for staff who are kept on by their employer.
I have three information requests:
1) Please advise if BBC staff can be included in the government's 80% payment scheme.
2) As of Monday 6th April, please advise the number of BBC staff who are currently furloughed due to them being unable to do their job for any reason related to COVID-19.
3) For the same date, please advise the number of BBC staff who are currently unable to do their job for any reason related to COVID-19 but are still receiving a full salary from the BBC.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Mr A Willmore
