The BBC has asked Capita to conduct the investigation, which it may use as an excuse to say "oh well, Capita is doing it so we'll just wait and see".
As the BBC has ordered Capita to investigate, at least they can't hide behind the fact that it's a Capita-only thing.

The BBC could do a "Watchdog" program about Capita goons.
They love getting other companies into trouble, why not their own beloved Capita?

Dear FOI Enquiries,

Your response to my FOI enquiry is now late. I believe I should expect a response from you no later than 20 working days from the date of my request.

Please fulfill your statutory obligations under the FOI Act by providing me with the requested information, or at least the courtesy of acknowledging your delay and an explanation for it.

Yours sincerely,

R Good

The BBC are certainly in breach of the regulations - but as action is never taken against them, do they care?
Of course not.

Dear FOI Enquiries,

Thank you for your reply, however I am disappointed that you are still unable to provide me with the information that I requested.

I request that an internal review is carried out on your failure to provide the requested information within the statutory duration :

1) The information I requested is neither obscure or voluminous;

2) You failed to provide the requested information within the statutory duration and failed to inform me of any delay and the reasons for the delay.

3) I was required to prompt you to provide your last response and that contains no useful information - I requested that you provide a duration for any delay and the reasons for such delay - Neither were provided.

Yours sincerely,

This FOI request has been left open as it is awaiting an internal review. However, as the expected investigation end date has now passed, I have submitted a new request ( https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/b... ) for the details of the investigation.

Dear FOI Enquiries,

I requested an internal review on 6th April into your handling of this request. Although you provided me with a response to my original request the day after I requested the internal review, I did (and still do) expect the requested internal review to be carried out.

As you have not responded specifically to my internal review request or provided me with an IR reference number, please confirm that this internal review is/will be taking place.

Yours sincerely,

R Good

I have closed this request, although my internal review request appears to have been ignored.

IHowever, I do want to understand why the BBC appears to find it so difficult to either provide responses to even relatively simple requests within the ICO guideline timescales, or have the courtesy to keep requesters sufficiently informed of delays to requests. Therefore I have re-requested an internal review here

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/i...

And now have an IR reference.
