How does NAO assess overpayments of Grant in Aid made to the BBC

Yours faithfully,

Mr I Hillas

Dear Mr Hillas,

Thank you for your request for information about how the National Audit
Office (NAO) assesses, audits and verifies BBC's TV licensing, as detailed
in your email, below.

Having considered your enquiry, we do not believe it constitutes a Freedom
of Information request.  This is because you are asking us questions about
our processes, rather than recorded information we might hold.  While we
are happy to answer your questions, we do not believe we hold much, if
any, recorded information that will provide answers to your questions.

We are, therefore, dealing with your enquiry as general correspondence as
this will enable us to better answer the points you raise.  Our timescales
for dealing with correspondence are similar to those for FOI requests, so
we will endeavour to provide you with a response by 3 April 2017, or
sooner if at all possible.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about this email, please
contact the FOI team.

Yours sincerely,

Joseph da Silva | FOI Team
