Bathgate WiFi Project
Dear West Lothian Council,
I attended a Swindon Borough Council Scrutiny Committee meeting on the 7/2/2011. An agenda item within this meeting concerned a progress report of Digital City (UK) Ltd. Swindon Borough Council is a majority share holder within Digital City (UK) Ltd.
Part of the scrutiny highlighted the failure of Digital City (UK) Ltd to secure the contract to supply WiFi to Bathgate Town Centre.
It was stated at the afore mentioned Scrutiny meeting that West Lothian Council had received vexatious emails/phone calls from a resident/residents of Swindon, Wiltshire and that this formed the basis for West Lothian Council to terminate the Bathgate wifi project and future project that may have been forthcoming.
1. Can you confirm that Swindon Borough Councils assertion that vexatious email/phone calls from a resident/residents of Swindon, Wiltshire is the primary or contributory reason that the project was terminated by West Lothian Council?
2. Is it the case that the project was terminated due to the current funding cuts that all councils are currently working to?
3. Does West Lothian Council take into consideration possible vexatious information from unknown external sources when tendering? or does West Lothian Council trust in its own ability to perform the required due diligence?
4. Can you confirm that Digital City (UK) Ltd is on the West Lothian Council tender list.
Yours faithfully,
Christopher Watts

Dear MacDonald, Duncan,
I am afraid you have replied to the wrong FOI. My FOI was regarding the Bathgate town Centre WiFi Project, not childrens services.
Yours sincerely,
Christopher Watts
