Dear Karen,

Thank you for your message, I appreciate being updated like this.

I am however curious as to why it is taking so long. On the day that I requested the details the £1.4 billion figure was being quoted repeatedly by various ministers including the Prime Minister. Presumably the basis was available then?

In any case, as I said I do appreciate your update and would be grateful for a timescale for completion.

Yours sincerely,

Matt

Matt Raven

Dear Sir or Madam, Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews. I am writing to request an internal review of Home Office's handling of my FOI request 'Basis for GBP1.4 billion cost of Gurkha settlement rights'. While I was advised that the response would be late it is now nearly three weeks overdue. As stated in my previous message, the claim was being made by various people including the Prime Minister on the far that I made the request. Presumably the details where available at that time. A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/ba... Yours sincerely, Matt Raven

Dear Sir or Madam,

Please confirm that my previous message was received and an internal review is being conducted or provide me with the requested information regarding the cost of giving settlement rights to the Gurkhas.

Dear Miss Fisher,

Thank you for your reply.

As I'm sure you are aware, "the Commissioner considers that a reasonable time for completing an internal review is 20 working days". While some cases may take longer "In those circumstances, the public authority should, as a matter of good practice, notify the requester and explain why more time is needed".

The request for information was made back on 29 April and the Internal review was requested on 16 June.

Please can I finally have the information I requested?

Yours sincerely,

Matt Raven
