Barnet Housing allocation

We're waiting for Beverly Smith to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Barnet Borough Council,

Would you please give me adequate information on the following:

1. How do you assess homelessness in your Borough?
2. When placed in emergency temporary accommodation for 6 weeks how long does it take to rehoused people?
3. What do you take in consideration when carrying out these assessments and how do you inform people on the progression of their case?
4. Do you still use Bands when carrying out Assessments and are the applicants aware of this?
5. What are the criteria for these Bands?
6. Do you still use the applicant's status (employment, voluntary work and full time education) when making your final judgment?
7. If an applicant becomes homeless (no fault of their own) because of financial changes where they were evicted from a private accommodation due to rent arrears does that affect them getting a council property if available?
8. If yes to Q 8; why would the council not support these people by offering council properties as well if available?
9. Would you please send me a rough total of free/available 2 & 3 bedroom properties that comes into Barnet Homes on a daily/weekly basis ( council and private properties)?

Yours faithfully,

Beverly Smith
