Your request ref: IG002378 has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. 
 
 
You asked us: 
How many times were you called out for bariatric assists / bariatric incidents in 2019, 
2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 (broken down by year, and, if possible, by month).   
 
Scope: 
Date Range: 1st January 2019 to 31st July 2023. 
Statistical returns measure Bariatric incidents using the IRS record of SSC Level 3 ‘Bariatric person 
(overweight)’. 
Bariatric incidents include where Fire Service crews are called to assist other agencies with a person 
who is 25 stone or more in weight, or a person who has limitations in health due to their weight, 
physical size, shape, or width. 
Data:   
Data is sourced from the Fire Service Incident Recording System (IRS).
