Banking Details Should Be Changed AT LEAST every Two Months to Safe Guard ID from Rampant THEFT

Liz R made this Freedom of Information request to House of Commons This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear House of Commons,

We all give, usually without argument, our names, address and DATE OF BIRTH and often, all our bank details- to everyone in every type of business every day- there is NOTHING much to stop anyone AT ALL stealing our identity - 'phone hacking seems easy as well, according to some publications- and the law doesn't seem to be protecting us from ID theft or very grave invasions of privacy, it is in itself, in constant breach of privacy law- could we not bring in mandatory changes to safeguard bank details, every two months *or less*- in order to curb ID theft please? Changing one or two digits regularly like this perhaps could be all it needs to help sort this problem out.

Do you have any recorded information regarding any changes in law in the last 12 months regarding ID theft - especially with banks (as above) please?

Thanks for your time

Yours faithfully,

Liz R
