Badger Cull Pilot Costs

Waiting for an internal review by Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs of their handling of this request.

Dear Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs,

With reference to the screenshot in the tweet below,
when will the FULL Costs of the Badger Cull Pilots
to date, including Year 1 breakdown for NFU/Police/
Defra/Natural England/AHVLA in EACH zone be 'collated' and PUBLISHED?

Could you please provide an ESTIMATED date for this
information to be made available in the public domain.

You are presently hiding behind Environmental Regs
to unreasonably withhold this information from
Public/Media/Parliamentary scrutiny.

Yours faithfully,

Spartacus

Dear TBADMIN (FFG),

You stated releasing figures before they are completed and audited could mislead the public if they have to be corrected at a later date.

You stated this runs counter to the purpose of freedom of
information which is to inform and provide clarity.

The second year of the pilot culls is about to
commence and your department have evaded
providing ANY costs involved.

This is an affront to freedom of information,
accountability and integrity of a government department
given power by the public.

You are abusing your position and power to
kniwlingly withhold and prolong the issuing of the
extensive costs associated with a failed policy.

There is no reason why an interim statement of
estimated costs cannot be made publicly available
as the Home Office/Gloucestershire Police/Avon & Somerset
published after much public/parliamentary/media
pressure.

Please disclose the estimated costs to date that you have
collated, as these costs will not mislead anyone, as these
costs have been accrued to date. This bill can only get bigger
if you have outstanding invoices.

The public/media/parliament have a fundamental right
to know the extent of the costs of the first year of the
pilot culls BEFORE you attempt to continue with Year 2.

Yours sincerely,

Spartacus

Dear Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs's handling of my FOI request 'Badger Cull Pilot Costs'.

[ There is no valid reason for you to not provide
an estimated or scheduled date for publication of
Badger Cull Costs Year 1, other than to evade Public
Scrutiny.

'Due course' is a completely unacceptable response.
