Backpayment figures for SDP on conversion IB to ESA

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Department for Work and Pensions should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Backpayment figures for Disability Premium on conversion IB to ESA

With regard to "IB Reassessment, TA and ESA time limiting"
“DMs are also reminded that, where the claimant's existing award(s) of IB, IS or SDA qualify for conversion to ESA, the first step in calculating the amount of ESA to be awarded is to calculate how much ESA (IR as well as C) would be awarded if a claim had been made see DMG 45581. Where a claimant was previously entitled to IB, the DM should therefore consider whether they are entitled to ESA(IR) as well as (C) on conversion even if they were not entitled to IS. If this is not done at conversion, and the claimant would have been entitled to ESA(IR) at that date, the conversion decision should be revised for official error. The guidance in DMG Chapter 45 will be expanded as soon as possible to make this clearer”

For example https://patient.info/forums/discuss/esa-...
details 11 August 2016 an award of 2 year backdated ESA Severe Disability Premium
and
Roehampton Citizens Advice Bureau reports 7 July 2014 "ESA – migration cases – inaccurate IRESA assessments...We have had a number of these cases...the DWP has paid"

Please send me the number of backpayments made years 2012,2013,2014,2015,2016 and so far 2017 for Backpayment of Disability Premiums, for official error on conversion of Incapacity Benefit to Employment and Support Allowance

Please can you break down each year, into number of awards by amount into 5 bracketed amounts of £0 to £2000,£2000 to £5000,£5000 to £10000,£10000 to £20000 and £20000 plus

Yours faithfully,

Anthony Collins
