Dear Jorno,

Thank you for submitting an FOI request, requesting information from the
University of Warwick. To comply with your request, we would be grateful
if you could please clarify the following:

-          Could you please confirm the academic year that you require for
the requested breakdown?

-          Where you state “successful”, please can you confirm by this
description that you are referring to the total number of students who
received an ‘offer’, as opposed to those that accepted their offer and
subsequently enrolled.

Please be advised that the University will be unable to proceed with your
request until you have provided the requested clarifications and the
20-working day statutory time frame does not begin until clarification has
been received. Should the University not receive a reply to this email,
your request will be closed in 20 working days.

Kind regards,

Dear infocompliance, Resource,

1. The most recent year for which you have data. This would preferably be 2020\21, but if there’s no data held for this year 2019\20 or preceding years would be perfectly fine.
2. By successful I do mean the number receiving an offer, not the number enrolling.

Thank you for your quick response.

Yours sincerely,

Jorno Jaynes

Dear infocompliance, Resource,

I await your response to my clarification.

Jorno

Thank you for your email.

The University has up to 20 working days, starting from the date final

external statutory deadline for responding to your request is 25 March
2022.

The University tries to deal with each request as expeditiously as is
reasonably possible, however it receives a high volume of requests. Please
be assured that the University is working on your request and hopes to
provide a response soon.

Jorno

Thank you for your email dated 24 February 2022 requesting information
from the University of Warwick under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
2000. Please find below your request and the University’s response.

FOI Request

Please may you provide the below information for A level applicants to the
BA Liberal Arts.

1) Applicants by A level grades (predicted) (Eg A*AA, A*AB, ABB etc). From
A*A*A* downwards.

2) successful applicants by A level grades

It would be best provided as a spreadsheet.

Eg: 33 applicants with AAA predicted grades, 22 given offers

After the University sought clarification from you on 25 February 2022,
you provided the following further information:

1. The most recent year for which you have data. This would preferably be
2020\21, but if there’s no data held for this year 2019\20 or preceding
years would be perfectly fine.

2. By successful I do mean the number receiving an offer, not the number
enrolling.

Response

Please find the requested information in the attached spreadsheet titled
‘FOI Request – F204.21-22’.

Data notes:

o Please note that where the University has stated the value as ‘< 5’ it
declines to provide the actual figure on the grounds that the numbers
are very small and could potentially lead to the identification of
individuals, which may place the University in breach of the UK
General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
The University is relying on the exemption under section 40(2) of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000 in this regard.
o The data provided in the attached spreadsheet is based on ‘A levels’
only therefore it might appear as though some applicants took less
than three A Levels, but were most likely also taking other types of
qualifications.
o Please note that some applicants may have been rejected ‘by default’
if all the required information to process their application was not
received by the UCAS offer deadline or for some other reason,
therefore some listed as Reject’ may not have been rejected based on
their predicted grades.

We trust that this information will be helpful to you, however, should you
be dissatisfied with the way in which your request has been handled you
can request an internal review within 40 working days of our response and,
in the first instance, you are advised to follow the procedure outlined
here:
[1]https://warwick.ac.uk/services/legalandc...

If you remain dissatisfied with how your request has been handled, you
have a right to appeal to the Information Commissioner at: The Information
Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Walter Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire,
SK9 5AF (0303 123 1113) ([2]https://ico.org.uk/).

Yours sincerely
