Aylesbury Estate Protest legal and security costs

The request was partially successful.

Dear Southwark Borough Council,

The Aylesbury estate has had an ongoing protest occupation since the March for Homes on the 31st Jan 2015 till the sending of this FOI on the 4/3/2015. In this month the occupation, going under the name Fight for the Aylesbury (@fight4aylesbury on twitter), has occupied two different blocks of flats.

Can I please know how much Southwark has spent and owes on the following costs related to the occupation from 31/1/2015 to 4/3/2015 and a break down of what was spent (or is now owed), when and to who on each of the areas listed below (eg. 200pound paid to Joe Bloggs law firm for representation in court on ??/2/2015, 100 pound owed to Lambeth County Court for application for an Interim Possession order (IPO) for 69-76 Chartridge House etc.)

The areas of spending:

1) The legal costs (spent and owed) of getting the IPO and possession orders for 69-76 Chartridge (Westmoreland Road, SE17 2BZ) and 77-105 Chartridge .

2) The costs spent and owed on security hired to patrol around the occupation and Aylesbury estate from 31/1/2015 to 4/3/2015.

3) The costs spent and owed on physically securing both 69-76 and 77-105 Chartridge House, and also for erecting the fence that now surrounds the part of the Aylesbury estate bound by Albany Road, Portland St, Westmoreland Road and Bradenham Close.

Yours faithfully,

Liam Sheehan

I am requesting an internal review because you have yet to give me an answer to my request or explain why no answer has been given.I want this answer asap as there is no reason such simple information,as that requested, should be taking this long to put together.

Southwark Council - Information request

Dear Southwark Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Southwark Borough Council's handling of my FOI request 'Aylesbury Estate Protest legal and security costs'.

I had 3 parts to my foi and not any were answered fully.

With part 1 you refused answering how much was spent on the legal costs whilst admitting you have records of them, albeit as part of other general legal costs. You should give me how much was spent on the general legal costs that the Aylesbury was part of, and tell me what other costs were part of it. You should have done this as it gives an indication of the costs I asked for and you have it recorded.

In part 2 I asked about the costs of security. You said you will not be invoiced till mid may. Are you really saying you are committing yourselves to costs with no idea of how much they could be. There must be an idea of security costs and they should have been given in answer to my foi.

Part 3 also asked about securing the buildings as well as the fence. After the evictions metal sheeting appeared on the flats balconies and windows that wasn't there before. You made no comment about the cost of securing the buildings, can I have these costs now.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/a...

Yours faithfully,

Liam Sheehan
