Could you inform me as to whether

1) individuals who were discharged in absent for misconduct (because of illegal absence) - i.e. deserted - from the armed services of the UK or its former Dominions were eligible for Knighthoods or other honours in the 1980s;

2) any such individual was awarded a Knighthood or other honour in the 1980s.
