Dear Ms James,
I write in relation to your request for the following:
1/ How many incidences of APVA (Adolescent to Parent Violence and/or
abuse) have been recorded per month by your police force for the year 2020
to date 2/ How many incidences of APVA (Adolescent to Parent Violence
and/or abuse) were recorded per month by your police force for the year
2019
It is not possible to progress your request at this time, as clarification
is needed from you to enable us to locate the information you have asked
for.
We have consulted with our analysts who advise that victim and offender
information is routinely captured within crime records but the
relationship between the two is not captured in a structured field that
would allow for easy extraction.
Therefore, in order to obtain the relationship between the victim and the
offender, each occurrence would need to be individually interrogated on
our crime and incident recording system (Niche RMS). This would exceed our
appropriate fees limit of 18 hours under Section 12 of the FOI Act.
We are able to provide a partial response in respect of domestic abuse
occurrences. In these cases and where a PPN (Public Protection
Notification) form has been completed, the relationship between the victim
and the perpetrator is captured on the form.
Would you therefore be happy for us to retrieve the information from the
occurrences where a PPN form is completed?
In line with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 Section 10(6), the 20
working day timescale will be suspended until the required clarification
has been received, restarting on the date when the information is
received. If we do not receive clarification from you then your request
will be closed 20 working days from the date of this email.
Kind regards,
Vicky Griffiths
