Avon Community Resilience Team (Avon CRT, SARAID)
Dear Sue Mountstevens,
I am of the understanding that you were one of the partners that set up the Community Resilience Team (CRT) for Avon, along with Avon Fire and Rescue.
Please could you answer the following:-
- Was this team identified as a need by the Local Resilience Forum?
- Did you your Constabulary consult with the Resilience Teams in the Local Authorities that cover Avon?
-Which department within Avon and Somerset Constabulary deal with those with life at risk?
-Which department are leading on Avon CRT?
- Are there any other services or charities within Avon and Somerset who participate in the LRF or any of their sub-committees that provide any of the service that CRT Avon provide including, but not exclusively, flood rescue, search for missing people, rescue from height, search and rescue in perilous environments beyond the normal scope of policing?
-If there are existing services or charities that provide this, what are your reasons, documented or otherwise, for supporting duplicating these?
- How much funding, either through direct funding or value in services in kind have Avon and Somerset Constabulary provided to CRT Avon or SARAID and did you authorise this?
What is the justification to the tax payer for any duplication?
Which of the Policing Priorities did the creation of Avon CRT to address?
Have you, as PCC, supported the Avon CRT in person?
Have you identified the other voluntary services, emergency or otherwise that cover these areas of need?
Have you supported these in person?
Has the Chief Constable been asked to support any voluntary or community based volunteers in person or in kind?
Yours faithfully,
I A M Concerned
