Average wait times for Adult Social Work Needs Assessments
Dear Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council,
I would like you to provide stats on the average wait times for an Adult Social Work needs assessment over the last 3 years. If possible please break it down by month. If the above breaches the maximum aloud to spend (Section 12 of the FOIA) on a request please prioritise the last year.
I expect a response within 20 working Days.
Dear Mr McCutcheon
Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information request in which you
“I would like you to provide stats on the average wait times for an Adult

The following figures give the average number of days from contact to
assessment start, for each month from January 2015 to August 2018, and
overall for the last three financial years. The month is selected based on
the assessment start date – for example, if a referral was received on
31/07 and the assessment was started on 01/08, that assessment would be
included in the average for August, rather than July.
As to what constitutes a “needs assessment”, it has been deemed suitable
to include Core Assessments that contribute to Care Act eligibility .
