I would like you to provide stats on the average wait times for an Adult Social Work needs assessment over the last 3 years. If possible please break it down by month. If the above breaches the maximum aloud to spend (Section 12 of the FOIA) on a request please prioritise the last year.

Dear - [name removed],
Information Request - FS-Case-83918979
Thank you for your Freedom of Information request. In response to your
request I can confirm the following:
Question: I would like you to provide stats on the average wait times for
an Adult Social Work needs assessment over the last 3 years. If possible
please break it down by month. If the above breaches the maximum allowed
to spend (Section 12 of the FOIA) on a request please prioritise the last
year. Response: I can confirm that Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council
holds the information that you have requested. However, because the cost
of complying with your request would exceed the limit set by the Freedom
of Information Act, on this occasion I am afraid we will not be processing
your request further. The law allows us to decline to answer Freedom of
Information requests when we estimate it would cost us more than £450
(equivalent to 18 hours worth of work, calculated at £25 per hour) to
identify, locate, extract, and then provide the information that has been
asked for. In this instance to provide you with the information we would
be required to manually check 3,572 records in order to validate the
information. This task would exceed the appropriate limit set out in the
Act, that is, in excess of 18 hours. Although we cannot answer your
request at the moment, we might be able to answer a refined request within
the cost limit. You may wish to consider, for example, reducing the
timeframe of your request. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee at
this stage that a refined request will fall within the FOIA cost limit.
If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you have the
right to ask for an internal review. Internal review requests should be
submitted within two months of the date of receipt of the response to your
request, and should be addressed to:
Information Management Unit
Sandwell Council House
Freeth Street
Oldbury

Email – [Sandwell Council request email]
If you are not content with the outcome of an internal review, you have
the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:

Please remember to quote the reference number above in any future
