Dear Flintshire County Council,

I would like you to provide stats on the average wait times for an Adult Social Work needs assessment over the last 3 years. If possible please break it down by month. If the above breaches the maximum aloud to spend (Section 12 of the FOIA) on a request please prioritise the last year.

I expect a response within 20 working Days.

Further to your Freedom of Information request dated 4/08/2018, Flintshire
have responded below-

I would like you to provide stats on the average wait times for an Adult
Social Work needs assessment over the last 3 years. If possible please
break it down by month. If the above breaches the maximum aloud to spend
(Section 12 of the FOIA) on a request please prioritise the last year.

There are no statutory timescales in place for assessments. Referrals are
prioritised in line with the ‘Timely Response’ policy and an appropriate
proportionate response made within the allocated timescales, according to
the presenting needs and circumstances. Under the Social Services and
Well-being Act, most assessments start when a person accesses 'the
information, advice and assistance service', and therefore the waiting
time is usually less than one working day.

The information about average waiting times you are requesting is not held
in a reportable format, to gather this information would involve searching
through all relevant cases and working out the average waiting times. This
would exceed the time/ cost limit, therefore Flintshire are refusing this
information under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
12.- (1) Section1(1) does not oblige a public authority to comply with a
request for information if the authority estimates that the cost of
complying with the request would exceed the appropriate limit.

Yours sincerely

Rachael Strand
